What is the best army overall in 40K Warhammer?

I want to know what the best army is on warhammer 40K table top game to choose. I would prefer if it wasn't too expensive as I am only 14 and I'm on the doll, i don't really want Space marines as there are a noob army but I really don't mind

Generally speaking, there is no "best" army. The armies are fairly well-balanced and a well-designed army list, in the hands of a competent player, of any army can be confident of having at least an even chance against any other player with any other army.



If money were no object, then there are some army designs that have proven to be dominant in some circumstances (the Imperial Guard has a number of expensive builds that offer advantages to the canny player), but as this clearly isn't the case, we'll move swiftly along.



If your priority is cost - and it clearly is - then your options are highly limited. You will find that buying an Ork or Space Marine army up to 1500 points on eBay is possible for less than 拢100. But you will be severely constrained in the units available to you. Forget about Land Raiders or special character models, for example. And mechanized Orks will be out of your reach.



For other armies, you need to be aware that a total expenditure, including paints, codex, rulebooks and tools, won't leave change out of 拢200 for an army of 1500 points or more (which is the typical size for a starter army). So you may have to be extra nice to the family in the hope of getting money and expensive units for Christmas and birthday. Save up your pocket money and see if you can do some extra chores for the family for small compensations: it all adds up!



A couple of other points: (1) If you're 14, you can't be on the dole, as that's only available from 16 upwards to people out of full-time education; and (2) space marines are a very popular army with new players, but that doesn't make it a noob army; I've been playing for well over 20 years and marines are my primary choice on the tabletop.What is the best army overall in 40K Warhammer?
Truthfully there isn't a "best" army to play. It all depends on your play style and what you like to do. There are many armies that excel at one aspect or another. The best all around armies would be chaos marines and space marines. Simply because their troops are jack-of-all-trades, and can pretty much handle any role you assign to them. The Imp. Guard is the best for number of templates and making a swiss army-knife style of army, where you can make a list that is able to handle whatever your opponent throws at you. Orks are arguably the best horde army, followed by the Tyranids. Both armies excel at hand to hand combat. The Tau have the longest range guns in the game, but are also the weakest in hand to hand. Necrons are fairly straight forward and hard to keep down. The eldar and dark eldar specialize in speed and special options. So it's really hard to say X army is better than Y army.
