and please guys don't argue about itWhat's the best warhammer army (not 40k) to suit me?
it depends on what you what. the most varied army in my opinion is Skaven. there are four major clans. Clan Skyre are techno-wizards (buy upgrades to make them better) who always know the warp-lightning spell (5+= d6 strength 5 hits or 9+=2d6 hits) and they have a lot of short ranged guns which can kill themselves. Clan Eshin are unarmoured skirmishers. Clan Moulder have mutant rat beasts. Clan Pestilence are crazy unamoured skaven who all have the frenzy rule (+1 attack and must charge if in range or move as fast as possible to the nearest visible enemy). You can field a mixture of them. the core of most skaven armies are clanrats (who are average troops) and clanrat slaves (rubbish but perfect shield as no-one cares if they run away). What's the best warhammer army (not 40k) to suit me?
i personally think you should chose an easy army to start with and then make your way up from there any army like empire or dwarfs should get you going as skaven are a bit more difficult

My suggestion would be to go down to your local hobby shop and ask one of the staff there these questions. And if it's anything like mine they should have store copies of some of the codex's that you can look at.

Another to try would be to come in on one of thier game nights and chat with the warhammer fantasy players.
