What is a good list for a 2v2 warhammer team of high elves and lizardmen?

My friend and I are in a 2v2 tournament, i play Lizards and he plays high elves. The rules are 8th edition, 2000 points each (so 4000 total), and we care share the percentages but each need 1 character and one core choice. (so i could have 1000 points of Lords and him none, but we each need to have no more then 2000 points) Any ideas on good army lists and/or tactics to take out armies we will be facing?What is a good list for a 2v2 warhammer team of high elves and lizardmen?
I don't know much about Lizardmen but the High Elves player should really be taking at least one unit of swordmasters, 2 repeater bolt throwers and an arch mage. If you have 10 swordmasters in 2 ranks of 5 you are looking at a bunch of WS6 S5 hits, they are beasts in close combat, I have seen 10 swordmasters take out a 20 strong unit of clanrats in 1 combat phase.



I would say maybe use some cheap infantry to lure your opponent into a charge then counter charge with the swordmasters. If there is any fast cavalry on your side use it to harry the flanks and if possible take out opposing war machines. Any spells/magic items that improve on the elves T3 will be most useful.What is a good list for a 2v2 warhammer team of high elves and lizardmen?
Use your Lizardmen as frontline combatants and split your high elf points between magical support and ranged.
