What army should I start with for Warhammer 40k?

I cannot debate between Chaos Space Marines or Orcs, but I can be flexible for any suggestions when starting army. But no difficult armies because I am just going to start Warhammer.

Thanks =)What army should I start with for Warhammer 40k?
If you're just starting, then I would strongly recommend going for Orks.

For a start, you get a pre-designed, easy-assemble army in the "Assault on Black Reach" boxed set along with everything else you need to play the game.

They are easier to paint and a far more entertaining army to play, with plenty of humour and fun mixed in with the havoc.

Of course, the easiest army to collect, paint and play with is Necrons. But they aren't as cost-effective as Orks and aren't anything like as much fun on the tabletop.
I play both armies. If you want to start cheaply then get Assault on Black Reach. Orks shooting is not very good. They do kick butt in close combat. CSM are almost as good as Orks in close combat but can shoot. I am currently enjoying my Chaos more than my orks. I just got tired of moving 100-120 boyz in a 1500 point game.

Pick the models you like best and go with that army. What army should I start with for Warhammer 40k?
IF your choosing between choas and ork, i would go ork, they have quite a simple codex and you can get the AoBR box to make it huge.

Either that or space marine, they're a nice rounded army for seeing what you want to play.
"Chaos Space Marines has less models=cheaper and is a small, elite army. Orcs are more of a horde army...." says my hubby, I lost him after that, sorry! What army should I start with for Warhammer 40k?
Well you would want an army that is cheap and effective so out of those two I would go orks

But my favourite is tau
necrons, look cool and doesnt afraid of anything
